Even they had presented more then ten new digital camera on previously held PMA show. In the end of February, Sony has presented two new digital cameras.
Sony CyberShot DSC-50 is the latest ultrazoom camera coming from Sony, it comes as a replacement for current H9 ultrazoom digital camera. Comparing to predcessor new H50 has new improved optical sensor with one megapixel more, now 9 megapiksels.
Lens of the new H50, while it still has same zoom range, from 31 – 465mm ( 35mm equivalent ) or 15x zoom, was subjected to complete redesign.
New lens has got one new ED optical element in it’s construction, so now it has 13 optical elements in 8 groups, with 4 aspherical elements and one new ED element. Adding up new ED element in the lens, will have to result less chromatic aberrations -purple fringes around highlighted parts of the photograph, which is quite usual on these kind of lenses.
All other improvements are hidden in the software of a camera. Option of fine tuning the amount of color noise cleaning is a great and highly anticipated waited thing. We are only hopping that this kind of practice will reflect all others Sonys digital cameras. White balance and color mode bracketing is a quite nice feature for advanced photographers, in the end this kind of camera is designed for them.
One of the key improvements is new burst shooting speed, now up to 1.6 frames per second, at full 9 megapixel resolution. Internall buffer of the camera can store up to 100 images, that actualy means that you can have full 9 megapixel burst for a whole minute at 1.6 fps before you fill up your buffer. Great result for this digital camera range.
