Samsung SGH-Z560 – The first HSDPA phone

Samsung announced new phone with HSDPA – High Speed Downlink Packet Access technology – the SGH-Z560. The Samsung SGH-Z560 can connect on Internet with 3.6Mbps. It was premiere presented in the 3GSM World Congress, Barcelona. It has simple, but good-looking design, so I think this phone will be very popular.

Samsung SGH-Z560 - first HSDPA phoneThe SGH-Z560 has 2Mpx camera with 1.8Mbps data rate, and like older Samsung phones lot of functionality for camera plus auto-focus. It can communicate with other phones and devices with bluetooth. It has Internal 2.3” 240×320 262K TFT and External 1.0” 128×128 65K TFT screen.

In 2005 Samsung already announced HSDPA phone in cooperation with Vodafone and Qualcomm.

Kitae Lee, president of Samsung Telecommunication Business stated: “Samsung is proud to showcase HSDPA technology as the future of mobile broadband. By introducing our new strategic model, Z560, Samsung will drive the commercialization and deployment of HSDPA in Europe and lead the market. ”
