Large display with 230,000 pixels is movable in two axises, and its mobility unleash totally new level of using this digital SLR camera. But if you used to use viewfinder to compose your images, E-3 will not let you down, it has large 100% covering 1.15x viewfinder. That is not all that Oly prepared new, E-3 uses totally new auto-focus system with 11 points, what Oly claims that is the fastest system of that kind in the wold – in combination with Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 12-60mm f2.8-4.0 SWD zoom lens. Shutter has suffer redesign also, so now its capable to shoot up to 1/8000 seconds or with flash up to 1/250. Another consequence of the redesigned mechanism is longer live cycle guarantied 150 000 shoots.

There was no question that the new DSLR body will have Oly’s in body sensor shift optical stabilization embedded, this time it’s realized by special processor that’s only analyzing data coming from movement sensors and calculate image sensor movement to compensate original camera shake. Also new E-3 has Supersonic wave filter so with splash-proof and dust-proof magnesium alloy body guaranties that you will not have problems with dust on your sensor and photos. For storing new E-3 has support for UDMA compact flash cards, but also supports Olympus’s xD cards as an alternative. With new DSLR body Olympus has prepared new battery grip HLD-4, that can pack up two batteries, and have additional shutter button and few other controls, resulting much better ergonomic in vertical shooting.
