Nokia introduced the new model and this is the kind of model that I am going to inform you all about it. The phone has been released since Oct 2005 and very rare item, you can hardly see them around. This model is mainly for Chinese markets (mainly China) but there are some web-sides which you can get this phone from (prices are between Usd550.00 to Usd700.00), for Australian folks, you can buy it too and price is Aud 900.00. Also I will say that Nokia 6708 is functionally identical to BenQ P31.
Well I don`t want now to tell you everything in the introduction, so look the other performances and epilogue.
The Nokia 6708 with its Symbian UIQ gives its users an easy to use touch pad based operating system. The UIQ version 2.1 is loaded on the Symbian OS version 7.0. In fact this baby will be Nokia’s first attempt at making an UIQ phone. The Nokia 6708 dimensions are 118 x 52 x 18 mm and his weight is 150 gr. The 2.6 inch TFT display shows 65,000 colors and has a 208 x 320 pixel resolution.
The candybar design is one of the easiest to use and the Nokia 6708 looks like it is meant for the corporate consumer. The handset will recognize both English and Chinese handwriting. Camera is 1.3 MP, with 1280×960 pixels, and video. Well for this mobile device, camera is not bad but I think that this phone should have at least 2 mp.
Nokia 6708 doesn`t have a radio, but he has mp3 player. While you are doing some of your important work you can in the background listen to your favorite music songs. In addition to the 18 megabytes memory, the handset also has a SD card slot which can accommodate a 2GB card. As for connectivity, the phone is well equipped with Bluetooth, Infrared and USB. The smart phone is a tri-band GSM handset ( he supports GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 ). The Nokia 6708 is presumed to go on sale in China by the end of the year and will cost some 60,000 Yen.
The address book is the same. You can add e-mail, home number, mobile number, fax number, notes etc. You can add picture thumbail when your closest friends are calling. I have to give a comment to the battery standard, because stand-by is up to 275 h and talk time is up to 6 h. This is an excellent standing with battery. I am impressed. The battery is standard, Li-Ion (BP-3001L).
Despite not having a Windows OS. The business applications that the 6708 will have are simply excellent. MS Office compatible files will work here (Excel , Word being of primary importance for most corporates). The built-in E-mail client supports major commonly used protocols.
Well, I have to say, that this Nokia`s mobile device is not bad, I think that he is going to work properly, but we need to wait some period to see for ourselves.
