There are numerous companies that are looking for ways to make their mark in the electronics market. LG is certainly one of these companies and with the 32” plasma; they are attempting to make a special play. Touting what is considered to be the smallest plasma TV on the market they are attempting to win over the cheaper markets that do not have room for the larger versions. However, with pricing that comes in above the low end mark it is a bit of a difficult sale.
The LG 32” plasma TV’s offer 550 lumens of brightness, which is considered fairly low end and also a subpar 1,800:1 contrast ratio. In terms of where the market is this is certainly a television that is a bit under the standard typical plasma televisions on the market.
The good news is this is one of the first attempts and better subsequent attempts can be expected. In the meantime, for those who cannot deal with a larger television this LG 32” plasma will do in the meantime. Initial release is in Brazil with a worldwide release expected in coming months.
The main goal of LG is to push their way into the popular 32” television market with this model, and it will be interesting to see how successful they are. The bad news for many is this version comes with a huge price tag that will still set many buyers back from what they would prefer to pay. Looking for a sale on this model may be a good idea, and it is definitely a smart move to look for a model in store so you can view the picture quality and ensure you will actually be happy before you purchase this model.
